    My buddy Wes and I - in addition to our weekly raquetball games - have started going to a local church on Sunday afternoons to play basketball. Unfortunately, during my most recent game, after jumping up to rebound a shot, my left foot landed on someone else’s as I came down, causing my foot to buckle inwards underneath my body and “forcing” me to use some words that weren’t church-appropriate. It was - to say the least - quite painful. The ankle started to swell immediately even with an almost-immediate application of ice. I stayed off the foot and on crutches for almost a week afterwards, even going so far as to see a self-proclaimed “witch doctor” - also known as Dr. Ross, my chiropractor - to try to help realign the ankle. Writing this almost 2 months later (even though this blog entry is approximately dated to mirror the injury the ankle still hasn’t full healed. Sometimes, I wonder if it ever will…
