San Francisco
Written by Brian David Crane on September 4th, 2007
I went out to San Francisco to visit a college friend of mine named Ben (no pictures yet!) for the weekend. It was great to see him & San Francisco. He is an exciting dude whose career paths and interests are similar to mine. The excuse was the Cal v. UT college football game but the weather and the city proved to be much more interesting than the game (UT lost 45-31). A couple of impressions really stand out from the trip: The food in San Francisco is amazingCal - Berkeley has a really beautiful campus (it isn’t nearly as “hippie” as I had pictured it either)San Francisco is an exciting city :: The closeness of everything coupled with the old buildings and the mixture of cultures is really cool to find in an American city (plus it has a lot of public transportation)Ben is a great host! :: He knows San Francisco better than anyone else I know (which isn’t saying much but still…)A couple highlights from the trip:The weather (it was surprisingly perfect)Riding bikes down by the Golden Gate BridgeSeeing Carlos (old H.S. soccer friend)Ben talked about getting a scooter while I was there. Plus, he was starting a new job at an Internet start-up in Palo Alto. Freakin’ cool!!
