We are in Rio! It was fantastic to see the Christ statute for the first time - we are planning to hang glide from the statute down into Rio later this week.As for getting to Rio, I am tired of buses and ready to sleep in a normal bed after two consecutive nights in buses (35+ hours). One bright spot of the bus trip was the chance to meet Sarah, a girl from Guadalara, Mexico who was on Rotary exchange program in Brasil. Very smart and a great person to practice my spanish with, we spent the majority of the trip in the bus talking. After arriving, we (Gustavo, Dani, Geli, and I) checked into Newton´s Rooftop Hostel in Copacabana - seems to be a nice place thus far. On a side note, I am sick again as my stomach won´t stop hurting. I threw up in the bus and then on our first night here I had the pleasure of throwing up in a nice pizza restaurant in front of maybe 20 people (womem screaming and all) - it was glorious as before this incident we were planning to go to a Samba bar but now the others have left me and I am in the Hostel writing this. Fun fun!

-hola niño!! ya me di cuenta de q sigues malito de tu estómago (q oso lo de la vomitada en la pizzeia la vdd pero ojalá ya te sientas mucho mejor) y lo peor del caso es q t tuviste q quedar en el hotel, pero ve el lado bueno, tuviste mucho tiempo para descansar después del viaje, yo cuando llegués a la casa y vi mi cama, vi la gloria fue unas de las mejores noches de mi vida dormia super bien, ya ves q no dormió casi nada en el cama -ya veo q andan paseando mucho, yo tmb ya estoy empezando a conocer muchas cosas, les recomiendo q den un paseo por barco al atardecer, tiene una vista muy linda, bueno a màme encantó -ahà si aprendes a bailar samba me avisas para ver si eres buen bailariño… te dejo el numero de la casa donde me estoy quedando por cualquier cosa es el 26130760 -muchos besos para tày para Gus, o como la frase de los brasileiros “beijo na bunda” tchao e nos vemos depois moao

Brian! Oh no! What a pitiful picture you’ve painted in my mind of you chuckin everywhere in a bus! I hope whatever it is, that you’re ok. Just wanted to drop a line and say hello, er, um g’day.
Uni started this week, and life in Sydney is GREAT! Hope you’re able to visit sometime! Cheers, Benji
