  • ¡Que bonita!

I have had a fantastic couple of days in El Bolson - I was thinking about leaving for Chile yesterday afternoon and I am very very glad I didn´t. Here´s a recap…first, I bought a mate bosilla (more or less cup) at the market as well tried some great dark beer from the local cerveceria artesenal. After that, I went PARAGLIDING. FANTASTIC - the climate wasn´t that great for it (as we had to wait for about 45 minutes for the wind to blow correctly) but once the climate was right, we started running down the mountain and up we went…it lasted for about 20 minutes but the view was great as the sun was out and we basically floated down the mountain. Videos and pictures will be up soon when I return to Cordoba on Sunday. After this, I decided to take a nap and when I woke up, a new surprise! Two friendly, beautiful girls (Michela and Guiller)staying in our room in the hostel from Argentina (jajaja). We (Mariake, Regi, and I) went to dinner with them as well as Sergio and his wife also came (I sat next to Sergio on the bus from Cordoba to Bariloche). Dinner and ice cream afterwards with everyone and then today, with Mariake y Regi leaving for Cordoba, I went with Michela and Guiller and another friend of theirs along with Jorge (who kinda just joined us on the trail) to the mountains to hike for about 22km (maybe 16-18 miles?). I am exhausted now but the place was beautiful - we took sandwiches, mate, and bought cervezas at the top of the mountain at the refugio (1500 m - 4000 feet?). The walk took probably 7 hours total - afterwards, the girls walked me to the bus station and I left for Bariloche for the night. I am writing this now from La Bolsa (a albergue-hostel in Bariloche - muy muy bien).

    1. Brian, you are killing me with all of these stories. That is so incredible you got to go paragliding and then hiking. The paragliding sounds immaculate. I love living vicariously through you!
