  • Internship

Well, I officially received my first internship today as a my future boss called and informed me that I was selected to intern in the U.S. Dept of Commerce office in Knoxville until May in the Import/Export division of the Commerce Dept. I am looking forward to making some great international contacts and ideas as I work with companies that want to build their overseas presence. Mom thinks it is going to be a great resume-builder. I think it is going to be my first taste of “office life”. I also met with a Realtor today, David Talley, to try and get the ball rolling on buying a house this month that Roberto and I can renovate and resell.I am busy and generally happy with everything that is going on. Cash4Cartridges USA is going great. I am continuing to work at The Melting Pot five nights a week (although I am still not serving even after a month of training). My final class has started at UTK. I now have this internship opportunity which will let me get a taste of international trade. I am trying to buy and renovate a house before Roberto’s visa runs out in August and I graduate in May. On the downside, my social life is generally on the back-burner other than an occasional after-work drink with M. Spiceland (who is leaving for Nashville on Feb. 1st). I am not sure I can maintain the pace I am moving at right now but we shall see…
