Fiesta HOY

First, I have to say that we are preparing the house for a party with all of the intercambios as well as some Argentinians. It is a costume party - everyone has to wear something red.As for what has been happening here in beautiful Arg…what can I say, life is good. I had another painting class on Wed. It was not quite what I was expecting as it was me in the midst of about 70 middle-aged Arg. women but the class was really cool as we got to paint for about 4 hours and I was invited to several dinners. The warmth of the Argentinians continues to impress me.I continue to see Mirta, a fellow dancer from my tango class, and Aime, the girl I met in the Brasilian bar.The old intercambios had a meeting with the Interchange Office about a variety of things. Concerns were raised about under-the-table rent increases, issues were brought forth (specifically the fact that everyone from last semester doesn`t receive any news from La Catolica and nobody seemed to agree. I left before the meeting ended as I am really happy in my housing situation.English classes are going really well. I brought my laptop to the last class and played some country music for the class…it was met with a mixed reaction (can you believe it?). They want to see my line-dance…In all honesty, I am not doing much work (and I use the term loosely). I was worried about not having internet in the house but maybe it is a blessing in disguise in that, because I can`t be connected, I am forcing myself to not be on the comp. as much as I was last semester.I continue to play football on thurs. and sat. Thursday is a friendly 5-5 match with the intercambios where Sat. is an 11-11 match. Our team (Inter United - representing 6 different countries) against other students from La Catolica. We won again today 2-1.Not much else to report - only a feeling of happiness.
