Erasmus & El Barrio Grácia
Written by Brian David Crane on May 7th, 2007
Esther has a computer with wireless internet in her flat so I am posting up a storm lately…Esther, a friend, and I went over to another barrio of Barcelona called Gràcia last night for drinks and tapas at one of the barrio’s central plazas last night. It was the first time I have ever eaten olives stuffed with sardines - tasty! As expected, I love the food here (although I haven’t found many places anywhere in the world where I haven’t been able to eat…haha).Nighttime in Barcelona is very exciting. There are young people everywhere (especially in the plazas of this barrio). Grácia is the primary neighborhoood for Erasmus students (EU students studying abroad in Barcelona) as well as the place for a variety of immigrants. The women here are very attractive. Not because they dress to impress but for some other reason that I can’t quite pin down just yet. Esther lives in another barrio called Urgell that is a bit wealthier and more cosmopolitan but the variety of languages and cultures packed into Grácia and the youth of its inhabitants make it more enjoyable. There is a lot to like about Barcelona.

So it seems like you’ve got to travel a lot the last few years. I’m happy for you ’cause I know how much you wanted to do that and how good it feels! Once you started I guess you just can’t stop. I hope you are having a wonderful time. Have fun, that’s the most important thing, and I think you do it just right. So, what comes next? Abrazos, Mariana - Brasil
