To celebrate my mom’s birthday, she and I went to see the “extraordinary, god-like, superhuman, amazing talented, better than you or I human being” known as David Copperfield on Wednesday. Although he is a bit on the arrogant side, I have to admit it was a great show and he is a super-talented guy. Some of his tricks included:- Making a 1950s Dodge appear on stage out of thin air- Guessing six lottery numbers from three randomly selected guests that he had previously pre-recorded on a tape and had engraved on a license plate- Making a man travel to a beach in the Philipines where he showed a tatoo he had just received on stage via satellite- Compressing himself from his normal height to around 2 feet- Making 12 randomly selected people disappear on-stage to end the show - no-one knows where they were supposed to reappear at…It was fun and I think Mom enjoyed it. I had a good time and now believe that I need to learn some magic for use at The Melting Pot - some slight-of-hand tricks such as “I didn’t know you brought your own silverware…” and then pulling a fork out from behind a customer’s ear…how cool would that be?
