Well, as it is the end of the semester, several of the intercambios are leaving. One in particular I am going to miss is Daniela - mi amiga from our trip to Uyuni, Bolivia & San Pedro de Atacama, Chile who is from Austria. We went to Campus Rock and the football games together and she was with me for my big moto accident. She is leaving on Sunday for Brasil and will head back to Europe at the end of July. I mention her now because we went out for ice cream last night along with Gustavo, Geli, Stefi, and Mariake to spend a few last moments together and a thought hit me about how fortunate I am to know so many intelligent and interesting people from across the world here. I think this is the essence of a study abroad program - discovering what we all have in common even though we come from different countries. As we walked down the street last night at 3 AM, talking and laughing, I was very thankful to have met such amazing people. Daniela is one of those girls who is comfortable in any situation with a variety of people (and she is a great travel partner). Boluda!
