Today is my birthday…I am 24…feel the excitement… :exclaim: BIRTHDAY UPDATE: Facebook is a wonderful creation. A little background: It is a social-networking site similar to MySpace that is insanely popular with college kids. One huge benefit of the site is you are alerted two days in advance when one of your “friends” - i.e. people in your social network - has a birthday coming up. Keeping this fact in mind, some 20+ people wished me a Happy Birthday on my Facebook account/profile yesterday, some of whom I haven’t heard from in a while and others whom I never expected to hear from again. It was nice.My parents, sister, and I went out to eat at a new restaurant here in Knoxville overlooking the lake. Mom, who is currently obsessed with the TV show “24″, made me a birthday card which, not surprisingly, linked my 24th birthday to the show. The card was funny. My Uncle Mike & Aunt Mary sent me a Hallmark birthday card in Spanish that said the following (if you are reading this and can speak Spanish, try to translate it - I missed some words - the translation is below):

Querido Sobrino,Ya estás por soplar las velitas y pedir tus deseos.Para eso, no hay edad…sólo la ilusión, renovada cada año, de que se hagan realidad. ¡Lo Mejor para Ti!

Back-Of-The-Card Translation: Dear NephewIt’s almost time to blow out your candles and make a wish.There’s no age limit on wishes, just the hope, renewed each year, that they will come true.Best Wishes!
