A Wedding In Chattanooga

I went down to charming Chattanooga on Saturday morning for a wedding with Abby. Abby’s best friend and roommate from college, Caroline, was the bridesmaid in her sister, Katie’s, wedding. Weddings (or at least the receptions) are always fun and this one was no exception even though this one was a bit early in the day. The ceremony and reception were great. Some highlights from the wedding and the rest of the day:- Convincing Caroline’s grandmother that Caroline was called “The Pink Panther” in college because of her love of the color pink.- Meeting Ruth after asking her to take the picture (seen above). She eventually took pictures of Abby and I as well as got our mailing addresses and names in order to send us birthday cards.- Taking Abby around with me while I searched for a Target and various Office Depots…it’s a long story that involves (what else?!?) cartridges.- Dinner and drinks at a restaurant downtown - Foodworks - with a couple other of Caroline’s friends.As we were leaving the restaurant that night, Mom called me and asked for “a HUGE favor”: drive down to Atlanta that night and pick up Lauren and two other people who were returning from Guatemala and were stranded as a result of a lack of seats on Delta flights into Knoxville. I’ve been stranded in airports before and it is not fun: I remember being stuck in Cincinatti for 3 days before Christmas in 2004 because of snow and my parents and sister driving up there to get me. With this in mind, Abby and I hopped in the ole reliable Buick and hit the road - she came with me to keep me company (much appreciated) and to keep me awake - the two of us left from Chattanooga around 10:30 PM on the way to Atlanta. After getting down to Atlanta and picking up the three stranded travelers, we dropped Abby back off in Chattanooga and made it home around 5:00 AM absolutely destroyed.
